1953 publication shows 26 kilos French common
As some of you may know my dad is a collector of all sorts of old paperwork - in the past he already found a small piece of 1940s Belgian carp history nobody knew of.
This week he found another interesting pic in the 1953 mag Ons Blad. It shows a supposedly 26 kilos weighing common (not sure if that weight is correct but it is a big fish from a time and age we don't know have a lot of proof of big carp) measuring 1 metre and 7 cm near Rennes, France. The caption adds in Dutch: "This one must be well over 100 years." Not sure how they decided on that though :-)
