Out of the Blue with Terry Hearn
Spent the other night watching the new Terry Hearn film on YouTube and what a great storyteller Terry is! As if we were there living the moment ourselves... For those of you who haven't seen this one, watch it here: We've been having contact with Mr Hearn himself since the very release of our first issue a decade ago and hope we can snare the man for a proper piece or interview for our twentieth issue next Winter.
Big Belgian rescue mission earlier this week
The last 48hrs big parts of Belgium have been hit by massive, mortal floods even. A lot of our friends are living in that region & also in the parts of Germany and Holland that have been flooded. Stay strong peeps & hope you can stay safe. Our very own Monkey Climber HQ / Warehouse flooded two weeks ago now. Luckily we were not away from home as the water entered in less than 15 mins. Come on, let's raise some serious money for Phyillis Tuckwell hospice. OVERVIEW OF MONEY WE HELPED RAISING FOR DIFFERENT CAUSES There's quite a few over the past decade which we never really recorded, so from now on we would like to do so on here with every charity blog post we do: 4.000 GBP for Mikey's Wish (2021) 1.800 GBP for Lucy's Bowl (2021)
Ace of Commons is no more :-(
Whilst we are all about PMA and positivity, news just reached us that Schubbenaas (freely translated as Ace of Commons) is sadly no longer. On the picture it's in the hands of our very good friend Dries Van den Heuvel last year. Its home, a very prolific and low stocked Belgian venue, used to be known for big commons but has been losing more and more of its Last Mohicans over the past few years. Rest in power!
